NIMO CARE is pleased to share its successful participation in a one-day training on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) organized by Good Hope Charity Organisation on 18th June 2026 at Mile 16 Mall, South-West Region, Cameroon.
Represented by our Executive Director, NIMO CARE joined participants from various Civil Society Organizations across the South-West Region to strengthen collective efforts toward preventing and responding to sexual exploitation and abuse within humanitarian and development settings.
The training was conducted under the theme:
“Strengthening Prevention, Reporting and Survivor-Centered Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.”
Key presentations covered:
✅ Overview of PSEA, including definitions, purpose, global standards, core principles, and staff obligations.
✅ Understanding power dynamics, vulnerabilities, and risks associated with sexual exploitation and abuse, and their impact on survivors, perpetrators, and communities.
✅ Mandatory reporting mechanisms and confidentiality protocols.
✅ Survivor-centered support approaches and referral pathways.
✅ Organizational codes of conduct and the importance of community engagement in PSEA implementation.
The training provided valuable insights and practical tools to enhance accountability, safeguard vulnerable populations, and promote a culture of respect, dignity, and zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse.
