Commemorating World Water Day at Ewongo, Wututu & Bonadikombo

On the 25th of March 2026, NIMO CARE Association joined UNICEF, MINEE, MINEPDED, EPDA, and others to commemorate World Water Day at the Ewongo, Wututu and Bonadikombo water catchment in Limbe of Fako Division, South-West Cameroon. Discussions highlighted water laws and penalties for violations in Cameroon, the history of the Bonadikombo, Wututu, and Ewongo catchments, importance of water protection and treatment, monitoring and evaluation techniques of the catchment project, and gender inclusiveness.

NIMO CARE represented by the CEO, Dr. Hedwig A. Ngwa, facilitated a discussion on Gender Inclusiveness and Women’s Participation in Decision-Making in Water Issues. The key roles of women and men in water use, preservation and management were highlighted. Women were presented as indispensable partners in successful water management. Their experiences and knowledge are valuable inputs that must be considered in water decision making issues.

This year’s theme, “WATER AND GENDER” with slogan “Where water flows, equality grows,” emphasizes the impact of water on gender equality and empowerment. Let’s prioritize women’s and girls’ access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.

At NIMO CARE ASSOCIATION, we are committed to promoting water conservation and equality. Let’s work together to ensure everyone has access to this fundamental human right.
